Peets Coffee
Peets Coffee & Tea store was first opened on April 1, 1966 in Berkely, California, by owner Alfred Peet.
His style of coffee was a radical departure from what was then available, emphasizing smaller batches, freshness, superior quality beans, and a darker roasting style that produced coffee with richness and complexity.
Peet's Coffee grew tremendously in popularity and by 1969 was quite the gathering place for artisans and coffee devotees.
As forty plus years have passed, the leadership of Peet's has remained true to the quality standards of their founder, and say, "Our purpose has not changed since 1966 – to seek out opportunities to raise the expectations of American coffee drinkers by attracting and serving those who truly love the taste of coffee, for whom a cup of coffee could only mean a cup of Peet’s."
When you order coffee, Peets will roast it for you the next day, package it and send it off to you for your enjoyment.Roasted coffee is a perishable food. The flavor peaks a few days after roasting and diminishes over time, even in a sealed bag, and very quickly once exposed to air, light, and moisture.
So the sooner you can enjoy your beans after roasting, the better your coffee will taste.
