Jacobs Coffee
Jacobs Coffee is named after its founder, Johann Jacobs, who first introduced his roast in Bremen, Germany in 1895. A man who was ahead of his time, Jacobs began offering pre-roasted coffees when he opened his first coffee house in 1907, a new concept during a time when people used their stove top to roast green coffee beans.
The years passed and the Jacobs family continued to offer their aromatic blend to the European market. By 1982, they had acquired the Suchard Chocolate company in their portfolio and in 1993, they merged with Kraft General Foods to become the company we know today.
At present, Jacobs coffee, or 'Jacobs Kaffee' in German, is one of the most popular German coffee brands.
It was awarded the European Trusted Brands 2008: Most Trusted Brand Award, and, voted one of the ten most valuable global coffee brands in 2009.
There's a roast variety for every taste and mood. Marketed by Kraft Foods in Europe, Jacobs provides everything from the deepest rich roast to the mildest blend.
Whole bean, ground or instant; caffeinated or decaffeinated; enriched with European chocolate, cream and sugar, the Jacobs varieties are a coffee-drinker's delight.
I have not tasted this coffee yet, although as I have researched this product it is apparent that those who drink Jacobs brand of coffee are very enthusiastic and loyal, speaking of the distinct aroma and rich flavor.
As someone who tends toward the European blends for flavor, richness and smooth taste, I will most likely have to give Jacobs Coffee my own personal taste test. (Currently, Gevalia coffee from Sweden is my daily wake-up java routine, and I recently fell in love with illy coffee the Italian roast.)
Purchasing coffee online (many have automatic delivery plans) is not an issue for me. If I love the roast, I will plan ahead and make sure it is at my doorstep when I want some!
